These Mexican 5x5cm Tiles are normally used as inset tiles within a terracotta floor.The most common technique is to 'clip' the corners of the tiles and drop them in,though you can also create a 'stepped' layout.The tiles are a wall tile construction so they need to be slightly counter-sunk relative to the general floor level to reduce the effects of abrasive floor traffic.That simple precaution,and the fact that they are a small format means that these simple tiles can enliven a floor for years and years!
