All of our slate floor tiles are imported either from China and India.Riven slate is usually easier to seal than limestone, less vulnerable to domestic acids and generally sympathetic to low maintenance.The surface is inherently irregular and rustic.The calibration process(eliminating the thickness variation inherent in a riven/ split material) with slate tiles is not always precise and therefore some variation in thickness is to be expected This is taken up by a variation in the amount of adhesive bedding.
