Limestone Tiles

We have broken our collection of limestone tiles down into two categories(under Our Products)

• Our calibrated limestone is sawn for even thickness and straight unworked edges and a smooth honed(satin) surface. Our limestone tiles are suitable for domestic floors and walls including kitchens, bathrooms and wet areas. All limestone tiles need to be sealed to prevent staining but it also needs to be hard enough to resist scratching, scuffing and ground in dirt.
• The antique appearance on an old limestone flagstone floor was in part achieved through the rudimentary cutting techniques of the time and in part through the effect of time. Modern processing of limestone block can go a long way towards recreating the irregular edges and worn surfaces of old Cotswold stone floor tiles while cutting techniques can create random patterns that eliminate the complications of working out where each piece should be laid.
