The antique appearance on an old limestone flagstone floor was in part achieved through the rudimentary cutting techniques of the time and in part through the effects of time.Modern processing of limestone block can go a long way towards recreating the irregular edges and worn surfaces of old Cotswold stone floor tiles while cutting techniques can create random patterns that eliminate the complications of working out where each piece should be laid.
